Mercer Named Bobcat MVP at Year-End Banquet

Mercer, who garnered first-team All-Big Sky Conference honors, led the team in scoring, averaging 18.4 points per game. In addition, the native of Perth, Australia set a MSU single-season record with 78 three-pointers. Mercer completed her career first on MSU’s all-time free throw percentage list.
Bobcat sophomore Erica Perry took home four team awards. The native of Lynnwood, Calif., was named the squad’s top defender, after leading the Big Sky Conference in steals.
In addition, she captured the Bobcat Pride award, along with strength athlete of the year and community service student-athlete of the year.
Junior Anne Phippard garnered the Sixth Man award. Phippard came off the bench during Montana State’s Big Sky tournament run to post a career-high 11 points as the Bobcats upset Idaho State.
Senior Krislyn Wallace was named most improved. Wallace finished the season averaging 12.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. As a junior, the Hooper, Utah native averaged 8.9 points.
