The Cougars opened the match winning the doubles point, sweeping all three positions.
In singles action, MSU’s Laura Villegas and Remy Clark fought to a second set tie-breaker before eventually falling to WSU.
“Washington State is one of the top teams in the country and I thought we played very competitively,” said MSU women’s coach Denise Albrecht. “Playing teams like WSU will help prepare us as we look towards the Big Sky Conference tournament.”
Montana State will play at Montana on Sunday morning.
