Montana State Women’s Tennis Team Splits in Arizona

The Bobcats also dropped a 5-2 decision to Northern Arizona in Big Sky Conference action on Saturday.
After dropping the opening doubles point to NAU, MSU’s Stephanie Jasper posted a 6-2, 6-3 win over Orsi Golovics. The Lumberjacks claimed victories at Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5, before the Bobcats’ Allison Fey handed Kim Van Ginkel at straight set 7-6, 7-5 loss.
“We played under some interesting conditions and I was proud of the way the kids battled,” said MSU women’s coach Denise Albrecht. “I was especially pleased with my Montana kids (Jasper and Fey), for posting our two wins.”
Jasper, a freshman from Big Sky, ran her season mark to 6-1 in singles play. The Bobcats are 5-3 overall and 1-1 in Big Sky action.
