Montana Skiers Finish Seventh at UNM Invitational

The Bobcats were led by its Nordic freestyle contingent who racked up 98.5 points- MSU’s largest total of the weekend.
Gunnar Kristiansen posted the best effort of the invitational, finishing sixth in the men’s freestyle race in 14:06.4. He was followed by Nathan Park, 18th, 14:38.4; Bernhard Roenning, 23rd, 14:56.5; and Ryan Scott, 31st, 15:49.6.
The Bobcat women were paced by Kaelin Kiesel, who placed eighth overall in the women’s five-kilometer race in 16:28.0. She was followed by Melina Park, 22nd, 17:30.2; and Karoline Teien, 25th, 18:08.9.
In alpine action, sophomore Toby LaMar notched one of his best outings of the season, placing seventh in the slalom with a two-run total of 1:39.57.
Also contributing were Don Brockett, 16th, 1:42.06; Andre Hokholt, 18th, 1:42.26; Alex van Roon, 28th, 2:00.76; and Kyle Taylor, 31st, 2:02.30.
Amy Lattimer led the MSU women in the slalom, finishing 18th in 1:47.08. She was followed by Ali Leighton, 28th, 1L54.16; Chichi Williams, 29th, 1:56.56; Sonja Jennings, 30th, 1:56.59; Hannah Victory, 34th, 2:01.69; Victoria Christensen, 41st, 2:45.44; and Sasha Dingle, 42nd, 3:19.04.
Denver won the UNM Invitational with 591 points, followed by Colorado 587.5, New Mexico 481.5, Alaska-Anchorage 447.5, Utah 422, Nevada 420, MSU 341.5; Whitman 180, Western State 163 and Wyoming 47.
