Bobcat Women Tennis Squads Hosts Season-Opener

MSU will open play against Big Sky Conference rival Northern Colorado at 10 a.m., followed by Sam Houston State at 3 p.m. Northern Colorado and Sam Houston State will play on Saturday at 9 a.m.
The Bobcats were supposed to open their 2008 campaign last weekend at Boise State; however, the match was canceled due to weather conditions.
Denise Albrecht begins her eighth season at the helm of the Bobcat women’s program and welcomes back eight returners from last year’s team that posted a 5-2 Big Sky Conference mark.
Leading the contingent this season are four seniors: including Nuria Hernandez, Remy Clark, Katy Proietti and Allison Fey. All four letterwinners were part of MSU’s line-up and accounted for 35 victories in singles action.
MSU will also mix in three younger players as Stephanie Jasper, Laura Villegas and Andrea de la Torre look to break into the Bobcats’ top six.
