McDonald Earns Big Sky Tennis Player of the Week Honors

McDonald helped the Bobcats to a 4-3 upset over No. 75 UC Davis on Saturday. Montana State went 2-1 last week with a conference win over Portland State, a loss to Portland and a win over the Aggies.
The senior, from Casper, Wyo., won all three of his matches at the No. 1 singles and also went 3-0 in doubles play.
In a shutout over the Vikings, McDonald defeated Kyle Erickson 6-2, 6-1. He teammed up with Jakub Dybala at the No. 1 doubles for an 8-3 win over Erickson and Alex Hart.
Against the Pilots, McDonald dispatched Joel Kincaid in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. In doubles play, he and Dybala dropped Charles Yemm and Filip Zivkovic 8-6 at the No. 1.
In Montana State’s win on Sunday, McDonald beat Michael Reiser 7-5, 6-3. He also combined with Dybala again to down UC Davis’ Resier and Daniel Elefant 8-4.
