Bobcat Skiers Finish 5th at Western State Invite

Bobcat junior Anders Folleraas paced MSU with a pair of top 10 performances in the Nordic events, including a fourth place showing in the men’s 15-k freestyle in a time of 36:38.2.
Folleraas, a native of Lillehammer, Norway, also finished ninth in the 10-k classic race with a clocking of 29:58.4.
On the women’s side, MSU’s Kaelin Kiesel had her best outing of the year, placing fifth in the women’s 10-k freestyle race in a time of 30:12.3.
Claire Rennie, a two-time NCAA qualifier, just missed a top ten finish, as well, placing 11th in a time of 31:11.8.
Colorado claimed the team title with 506.5 points, and was followed by Utah 502.5, Denver 493, New Mexico 354, MSU 351, Alaska-Anchorage 343, Nevada 331, Whitman 175, Western State 136, and Wyoming 38.
Due to snowy weather conditions, the women’s giant slalom was reduced to one run, while the men’s event was canceled all together.
The men did get its slalom race as sophomore Toby LaMar notched the best performance for MSU placing tenth overall.
In women’s alpine action, Amy Lattimer paced MSU in the slalom, finishing 17th overall, while Chichi Williams led the Bobcats in giant slalom with a 19th place showing.
