MSU's Heringer Named Big Sky Player of the Week

Heringer averaged 19 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists a game last week as the Bobcats knocked off Eastern Washington and upset Portland State at home. With the wins, Montana State improved to 5-3 in conference play and moved into a third-place tie in the Big Sky standings.
The sophomore guard shot 63.2 percent (12-of-19) from the field, 60 percent (3-of-5) from 3-point range and went an impressive 11-of-11 from the free-throw line last week. In an 83-70 win over the Eagles on Thursday, Heringer scored a career-high 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. She also made 7-of-7 free throws and added two assists.
Against Portland State on Saturday, Heringer recorded 18 points, nine rebounds, three assists and went 4-of-4 from the charity stripe as the Bobcats picked up an 84-75 victory. The Vikings entered the week in a first-place tie with Montana.
Heringer, a native of Billings, Mont., is averaging 10.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists in Big Sky games this season. She leads the Bobcats with 50 percent shooting from the field and 95 percent from the free-throw line.
