An upcoming critical road stretch for the ‘Cats begins at Idaho State on Thursday night. MSU continues to compete for the top spot in the conference, just three games behind Portland State, one-half game behind Northern Arizona and tied with Weber State for third place in the BSC. The ‘Cats hope to avenge a home loss to Weber earlier in the season and make it two over the Bengals.
Last Week:
Feb. 14: beat Northern Arizona, 70-67
Feb. 17: beat Sacramento State, 87-82
Carlos Taylor scored 29 points and Divaldo Mbunga 20, as Montana State's two most consistent offensive threats for much of the season led the Bobcats to a 70-67 win over Northern Arizona in Worthington Arena on Thursday. The Bobcats led by as many as 10 in the second half, and played from behind for only two minutes in that stanza, but the Bobcats didn't seal the win until Nate Geiser's three-pointer at the buzzer caromed off the rim.
Montana State forced 23 Sacramento State turnovers and survived a late Hornet run to earn an 87-82 win Sunday in Bozeman. Vinnie McGhee led the Hornets with a game-high 30 points, but his 8-for-11 effort, which included converting all six of his three-point attempts, wasn't enough to counter a Bobcat attack featuring five players with at least 14 points. Casey Durham led MSU with 19 points, scoring all his points in the first 21 minutes of the game.

This week, women’s basketball hosts their last home stretch of the regular season starting with Idaho State on Thursday night. Earlier in the season, the ‘Cats lost a heart breaker at Idaho State on the road, 80-85. In that contest, senior Rebecca Mercer scored 29 points, but MSU had trouble containing Natalie Doma of ISU, who scored 33 against the ‘Cats. MSU picked up a road win at Weber during that trip, 77-65. In that contest, Mercer, Jenny Herringer, and Krislyn Wallace each scored in double digits.
Last Week:
Feb. 13: beat Sacramento State, 72-59
Feb. 15: lost at Northern Arizona, 70-71

Montana State’s Rebecca Mercer paced the Bobcats with a game-high 20 points to guide MSU to a 72-59 win over Sacramento State for their fourth consecutive victory. Montana State and Sacramento State combined for 40 turnovers, with the Bobcats forcing 17 first-half miscues by the Hornets. Montana State almost pulled off one of the biggest comebacks in school history, but came up .01-second short as Sade Cunningham converted a running layup to give Northern Arizona a 71-70 victory, Friday night in the Walkup Skydome. Northern Arizona built a 20-point cushion in the first half and held a 44-33 advantage at intermission.
