Bobcat Women’s Tennis Teams Splits Two at Air Force

The Bobcats opened play with a 7-0 victory over South Dakota State. En route to the win, Montana State (3-2) won three matches without dropping a set.
No. 1 singles standout Stephanie Jasper notched a 6-3, 6-1 win over Kate Wylie. Nuria Hernandez, Laura Villegas and Remy Clark all swept their opponents.
MSU also won all three doubles matches to claim the opening point.
In its second match, the Bobcats dropped a hard-fought 4-3 decision to Air Force.
The Falcons opened the match winning two of three doubles contests, including a narrow 9-7 victory at No. 2.
MSU answered winning at Nos. 1, 3, and 4 singles to take a 3-2 lead.
AFA evened the score following a win at No. 6, where Christen Monreal posted a 6-3, 6-4 victory over McKenzie Hilmer.
With the match tied at 4-all, AFA’s Sarah Cassman rallied for a 1-6, 7-6, 6-2 win over Remy Clark.
Montana State will host MSU Billings on Saturday in the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.
