Top Minnesota Golfer Signs Letter of Intent

O’Brien, a two-year all-state selection and a member of the prestigious 2008 PGA Junior Cup Team, joins Molly Dorans of Erie, Colorado and Melissa Hultstrand of Gilbert, Arizona who signed letters of intent earlier this month.
“Kelly has taken every step to improve her mental and technical game,” Spalding said. “She is an educated golfer who will fit right in with our team.”
O’Brien placed fifth in the 2008 Minnesota High School Girls’ State tournament and has numerous top five finishes in regional junior golf events. She was also team most valuable player three years in a row and has a 2.3 handicap. In addition to her athletic accomplishments, O’Brien is actively involved in community service events such as Meals on Wheels and is a teen volunteer in her local hospital.
