The win was the fourth straight Big Sky Conference victory for the Hornets.
Sacramento State (6-15, 4-2) out-hit Montana State (3-13, 0-6) .216 to .099.
Highlighting the MSU’s outing was the play of freshman Macy Merrell.
Merrell, a native of Orem, Utah, recorded a career-high nine kills and ten digs. She also notched a season-best .350 attack mark and a service ace.
Also contributing for MSU was Laura Viren with nine kills and 13 digs. Libero Meghan Albiston chipped in 11 digs, while setter Taylor Faught dished out 26 assists.
MSU was led at the net by Merrell and Kyla Hendry with three blocks apiece.
The loss concluded a four match road swing for MSU. The Bobcats will host Weber State on Friday in Shroyer Gym.
