Here we go again. After a thrilling and improbable 74-69 win over Eastern Washington on Saturday in which the Bobcats overcame a 19-point second half deficit, Montana State heads west for a rematch with the Eagles at 8:05 pm on Thursday. Adris DeLeon, a fast mover on the Big Sky Newcomer of the Year track, scored 22 points against the Bobcats on Thursday, as Eastern hit a dozen three-pointers. Carlos Taylor scored 20 for the Bobcats. MSU turned the ball over only nine times in that game, forcing 20 Eagle turnovers.

MSU is second in the league in rebound margin in all games (+4.4), but stands sixth in rebound margin in Big Sky games.

After swatting 3.2 shots a game last year, the Bobcats turn away 3.1 shots a game this year, second-best in the Big Sky. MSU blocks 3.8 shots a game in league play, the best mark in the loop. Divaldo Mbunga (4th, 1.2) and Adrian Zamora (8th, 0.85) are among Big Sky leaders.

MSU leads the Big Sky in free throw shooting at 74.4%. The Bobcats stand 33rd nationally in free throw percentage.

Montana State continues to lead the Big Sky Conference in attendance, drawing 4,685 to its home men’s games this year.

If Montana State played only 20 minute games this season, it would be in trouble. As it is, on aggregate the second 20 minutes have been MSU’s best. MSU’s shooting improves from 40.5% to 50.3% after halftime, while its defense makes a similar step up, from allowing 45.9% to 40.6%.
