Bobcats Participate in Suits & Sneakers Saturday

The Bobcat Basketball program joins the fight against cancer on Saturday night during the annual Suits and Sneakers awareness campaign.
Launched by the American Cancer Society's Coaches vs. Cancer program, the event features basketball coaches nation-wide wearing tennis shoes with their usual game-day attire to draw awareness to the need for cancer research funding. This year's Suits and Sneakers weekend begins on February 1, but with the Bobcats out of town then the MSU coaching staff will participate in the program on Saturday night.
"This is an important event nationally to draw attention to the fight against cancer," said MSU coach Brad Huse, himself a survivor of non-Hodgkins lymphoma. "Everyone is affected by cancer, and this is a way that basketball coaches can contribute to awareness of the fight."
In conjunction with the American Cancer Society, MSU honors local cancer survivors at Saturday's game against Eastern Washington. Honorees, including local radio personality Pete Hanson, will sit behind the MSU bench.
Saturday's game between the Bobcats and Eastern Washington begins at 7:05 pm in Worthington Arena.
