MSU Golfers Playing Strong at MDA Invite

Simmons, who leads the Montana State contingent going into the final round of the event, will be paired with her sibling who leads arch rival Montana with a score of 158, the exact score her Bobcat sister shot after the first two rounds at Spokane’s Hangman Valley Country Club.
MSU sits in 11th place after the first two rounds on Monday. Only 39 strokes separate leader Eastern Washington from the rest of the field.
“I am very happy with the golf we played,” head coach Brittany Basye said. “We look confident, are making some putts and hitting some great shots. This is the team I see everyday at practice and I am excited.”
Four of MSU’s six golfers shot at least one sub-80 round on Monday. “It’s a huge deal for these girls to be playing so well at this time,” Basye said.
The event concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes.
