Bobcat Prowl begins at 11:45 a.m. at Fieldhouse—cheer the team as they walk to the stadium! The Bobcat Marching Band will be playing and the Spirit Squad and Harley Riders will be there!
Montana State opens its home football season Saturday at the Bobcat Stadium against Dixie State with kickoff at 1:07 p.m. The Bobcat Prowl is a new pre-game activity this year that starts at the fieldhouse at 11:45 a.m. when the football team leaves for the stadium. Fans are encouraged to line the boulevard at 11:45 as the Spirit of the West marching Band, the MSU Spirit Squad, and riders from Yellowstone Harley Davison lead the team up to the stadium. Saturday is also Gold Rush and fans are encouraged to wear gold to the game.
Dixie State College hails from St. George, Utah is a Division II independent with a preseason record of 2-1. The Rebels lost their opener to Mesa State and are coming off two wins against Adams State and Western New Mexico. They are led in rushing by sophomore Dallas Irvin, a St. George native, rushing 3.7 yards per carry. Sophomore QB Skyler Ence averages 169 passing yards per game.

The popular Cat Chat™ coach’s radio show has begun. Bobcat coach Rob Ash and selected players join the new voice of the Bobcats, Jeff Lasky, on KMMS 1450 AM in Bozeman. The show begins Wednesday at 7 pm at Old Chicago on North 19th.
MSU’s weekly television highlight show, featuring Rob Ash and KWYB’s Dave Griffiths, airs across Montana at the following times:
Sunday, 10:15 pm: KWYB Bozeman, KTMF Missoula, KTMF Kalispell

Montana State opens its conference season this week on the road after their first victory in the Central Florida Invite last week. On Thursday, the ‘Cats face an NAU team coming off a match sweep at the Fiesta Bowl Tournament last week. NAU senior outside hitter Kim Babcock earned Big Sky player of the week honors as a result of her performance in that event. On Saturday, MSU travels to Northern Colorado. The Bears are 2-8, having a rough preseason with victories only against St Francis (PA) and UC-Riverside.

The Montana State volleyball team snapped its nine-match losing streak with a 30-27, 30-22, 30-23 straight set victory over North Florida, Saturday morning at the University of Central Florida Invitational. Montana State (1-10) dropped its second match on Saturday as Central Florida posted a 29-31, 31-29, 30-22, 29-31, 15-9 win over the Bobcats. Senior transfer Monique Schaal paced MSU with a team-high 13 kills, while Viren and Anderson added 12 winners, each. Defensively, Montana State was led by Meghan Albiston with 24 digs, while Anderson and Viren added 19 and 17, respectively. Nicole Grypiuk guided MSU at the net with seven blocks, while freshman Wendy Doutre paced the Bobcats with a .400 attack mark. Setter Sarah Allen dished out a season-high 55 assists and added nine digs.

Cross Country opens their 2007 season this Saturday by hosting their annual fall meet at Bridger Golf Course. The first race (men) goes at 9:00 a.m. with the women following at 9:45 a.m.

The ‘Cats open their season this week at the Ptarmigan Golf Classic in Fort Collins, Colorado. Five MSU golfers will compete in the 54-hole event: Stephanie Simmons (sr.), Kate Steffanich (sr.), LaRae Smith (jr.), Shannon Donegan (jr.), and Hillary Folkvord (jr.). Results will be available at www.msubobcats.com
