Montana State Women’s Hoop Squad Unveils 2007-08 Slate

Highlighting the schedule are five games against teams that advanced to last year’s NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.
The Bobcats will travel to Texas-Arlington, Iowa State and Drake, and will host Gonzaga on Dec. 21. In addition, MSU will face Idaho State during the Big Sky season. The Bengals represented the Big Sky in last year’s NCAA Championship.
“We’re facing five teams that advanced to the 2006-07 postseason,” said MSU third-year head coach Tricia Binford. “They are established programs and come from tough conferences. They also offer different styles of play.”
MSU will open its 2007-08 campaign with a pair of exhibition games, before traveling to the University of Idaho for the season-opener on Nov. 9. The Bobcats home opener will be Nov. 11 against MSU-Billings.
Following its contest with the Yellowjackets, MSU will depart on a four-game road-swing, which features stops in Texas, Colorado and Iowa.
The Bobcats will open the Big Sky Conference season on Jan. 5 at the University of Montana.
“The next step for our program is to become a more consistent team,” Binford said. “If we want to move up in the conference and begin to challenge in postseason we need to be ready to compete every night. I think our 2007-08 schedule will allow us a wonderful opportunity to compete.”
