Bobcats Announced 2007-08 Hoops Slate

A revived tradition and a couple of old rivals return to the Gallatin Valley this winter, as Brad Huse announced Montana State's challenging 2007-08 men's basketball schedule on Monday.
The Bobcats host former Big Sky rival Boise State and 2007 NCAA Tournament entry Long Beach State early in the preseason, and celebrate the return of the GranTree Inn Classic by hosting Pepperdine, Alcorn State and Texas-Pan American on November 30-December 1.
"We're playing teams that have proven themselves in recent years," Huse said, "teams that have been to the NCAA Tournament. We play several NCAA-caliber teams. The whole idea of the non-conference schedule is to prepare for conference, and this schedule should accomplish that."
MSU's non-conference opponents combined for a 190-132 record last year, with four 20-win squads in that bunch and seven of the 10 posting winning records. Four Bobcat opponents played in the NCAA Tournament last year, and MSU's non-conference slate falls within the top 160 in RPI based on last year's performance, satisfying a Big Sky Conference requirement.
