Jeff Lasky, a former sports anchor in the Bozeman television market, joins Bobcat Athletics this fall as Montana State's play-by-play voice, MSU Athletic Director Peter Fields and Tom Boman of Learfield Communications announced Friday.
"Jeff has a strong knowledge of Bobcat Athletics and the Bozeman community, and he has worked hard at his craft in the last several years," Fields said. "He told me when he left Bozeman that he wanted to work for MSU in this capacity some day, and I'm very pleased to welcome him back."
Lasky worked as anchor at Bozeman's KTVM-TV from 2002-05, and while in Bozeman called Bozeman Bucks American Legion action and worked on MSU men's and women's basketball broadcasts. He also worked as sideline reporter for Bobcat football games, and called television play-by-play for MSU's 2003 football playoff contest at Northern Iowa.
The 2002 Arizona State graduate called games for the Lancaster JetHawks of minor league baseball's California League the past two seasons, also working as Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations, and in 2005 was the play-by-play voice and Director of Media and Public Relations for the Inland Empire 66ers of the same league. He also served as play-by-play voice of Antelope Valley College football and basketball teams in 2006-07.
Lasky begins his duties at MSU with the Bobcat football team's September 1 season opener at Texas A&M. He will also handle men's basketball play-by-play.
Bobcat Sports Properties is a property of Learfield Sports, which is MSU's exclusive athletics marketing partner through 2011. In addition to Montana State, Learfield Sports manages the multimedia rights for nearly 35 collegiate institutions and associations and secures marketing partnerships for the Black Coaches & Administrators (BCA).
