Ash Tabs Beck to Coach D-Line

Bo Beck, who served as a graduate assistant the past three seasons at Iowa State and mentored under Montana State head football coach Rob Ash at Drake, has been named defenisve line coach at MSU, annouced Ash on Thursday.
Beck, who played collegiately at Arizona State and Colorado State, served as an assistant secondary coach at ISU that past three seasons. At Iowa State, he was responsible for coaching both the safeties and cornerbacks, and recruitied Kansas, Mississippi and California, as well.
“Bo is one of the most caring and dedicated coaches you’ll ever meet,” Ash said. “He identifies so well with his players. He is an outstanding person and coach, and will be a great addition to the our staff at Montana State.”
Prior to his stint in Ames, Beck coached two seasons at Drake. Beck coached the defenisve line and kickoff teams for the Bulldogs, as well as handling the program’s video system. He also had recruiting responsibilities in St. Louis, Western Iowa, Colorado, Nebraska and Arkansas.
Before moving to Des Moines, Beck served as varsity assistant coach/defensive corrdinator at Forth Collins High School in Colorado from 1994-2001.
Beck played at Arizona State from 1989-1990, and Colorado State 1991-92.
He earned a Master’s of Education degree in higher education from Iowa State this spring. In 2005, Beck received a Master’s of Science degree in adult education and leadership policies from Drake. He is also a 2002 graduate of Colorado State with a bachelor of arts degree in liberal arts.
