Lulay Shines for Thunder

NFL Europa quarterbacks put on a passing display this past weekend as all six starting QBs threw at least one touchdown pass to make Week 4 the league’s highest scoring weekend of the season.
On Saturday, Seattle Seahawks quarterback TRAVIS LULAY passed for 218 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Berlin Thunder to a come-from-behind 31-28 road victory over the Cologne Centurions. Berlin stormed back from an early 21-0 deficit by outscoring Cologne 31-7 over the final 44 minutes. For the Centurions, quarterback ERIK MEYER threw for 180 yards with three touchdowns. Both teams are 2-2, one game behind the first-place Frankfurt Galaxy.
“It was an outstanding game,” said Berlin head coach JOHN ALLEN. “Travis Lulay played really well. He did a great job of moving our offense and managing the clock. He’s a great leader all the way around.”
The Amsterdam Admirals handed Frankfurt its first loss of the season by defeating the Galaxy 19-17 at Amsterdam ArenA. Baltimore Ravens quarterback DREW OLSON threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Admirals, who improved to 2-2 and also moved one game behind Frankfurt. Chicago Bears quarterback J.T. O’SULLIVAN passed for 192 yards and one touchdown for the first-place Galaxy.
“This is a difficult place to play for anybody,” Admirals head coach BART ANDRUS said of the Amsterdam fans. “We really feel like we have a definite advantage here with the crowd and the noise.”
A crowd of 19,347 fans at Hamburg’s AOL Arena saw the Sea Devils score an NFL Europa season-high 34 points in the club’s 34-9 win over the Rhein Fire. Washington Redskins quarterback CASEY BRAMLET passed for 220 yards and three touchdowns for the Sea Devils, who improved to 2-2. For Rhein, quarterback CODY PICKETT completed 76.2 percent of his passes (16 of 21) for 123 yards and one touchdown.
“Casey Bramlet was very productive today,” said Hamburg head coach VINCE MARTINO. “He managed the offense perfectly.”
