Davis Joins Bobcat Football Program

Mike Kramer calls it the low point of his football coaching career, the time after Montana State's 45-0 home loss to UC Davis last fall. Long after completing his media obligations, long after fans had left Bobcat Stadium, he prepared to return alone to his office in Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.
As he exited the Stadium, he encountered, to his surprise, a small group of high school students that included Billings Skyview star Leo Davis, a Bobcat recruit. "I was at an all-time low, the first time I'd ever been shut out, and Leo was waiting for me and gave me a big hug," Kramer said Thursday, hours after receiving Davis' scholarship agreement to attend MSU and join the Bobcat football program next year. "That was one of those special moments that you never let go. I'm pretty emotional about that kid."
After originally signing to attend Colorado State, Davis contacted MSU this spring about instead joining the Bobcat program. A 6-4 defensive lineman, Davis earned all-state and Great Falls Tribune Superstate honors after his senior season.
Davis becomes the 10th Montana prep standout to join MSU's 2007 recruiting class, and the fifth defensive line prospect. "Leo joins an exception recruiting class, and really enhances that class. His greatest asset is not his God-give ability, which is plentiful, but his heart and his passion for the game. He is an outstanding addition to our program."
