Berg Leads Bobcats in Day 1 at Regionals

Kim Berg kept her NCAA Championships hopes alive during Friday's first day of competition at the NCAA Midwest Regional Track and Field Championships at Drake University.
Berg, a junior from Kremlin, finished eighth with a toss of 158-1. She stands 22nd nationally entering the regional meet, and by finishing eighth advances into the pool for consideration for the NCAA meet. Typically, 27 or 28 individuals per event qualifies from the at-large pool for the NCAA Championships.
Junior Nate Palmer finished 10th in the hammer throw with a 187-11, while Lewistown senior Jesse Allen failed to post a mark in that event. Kylee Zent, a sophomore from Bridger, finished 15th in the shot put.
Nine more Bobcats compete on Saturday.
