Hoopin' it up in the Bahamas, Day VI

Hola everyone! This is Nubia Garcia and I am going to tell you about our wonderful Friday in the Bahamas.
Today was a good day. We got up and ate breakfast. It was really good, by the way. I like how they have jalapenos. In America, it is hard to find them in restaurants. So, it was good eating them, it reminds me of home (Mexico).
Anyway, after breakfast all of us went to the pool. My teammates wanted to get really tan, but I decided to stay in the shade as much as possible. I got burnt yesterday, so I don’t want that to happen again, it hurts!
After two hours of lying in the sun, we decided to go para-sailing. It was my first time, so I was scared. I went with Mara (Hoefer) and Rebecca (Mercer). We got nicknames from the guy that was our para-sail captain. We were Miss Mexico, Miss Germany, and Miss Australia, how original! We really had a good time. I loved it. My other teammates were all para-sailing and everyone was having a good time.
After para-sailing, we played beach volleyball with coaches, trainers, and teammates. There were two teams, the good ones and the really bad ones. I was on the bad one- so we lost. I think I know why I play basketball. However, it was fun and I discovered that Heather, our trainer, is a really good volleyball player.
Shopping is the favorite hobby of some of my teammates, Mara and Rebecca especially. After spending three hours downtown yesterday, they didn’t get enough because they decided to go downtown again. I went with them, because I am a good teammate. I had to get some souvenirs for my siblings. Having six siblings is not good because I had to get something for every one of them.
The last thing we did today is play basketball. It was our best and last game in this trip. It was our best game because we played as a team. It was really physical, but I’m sure it is going to prepare us for next year. We beat the Bahamian National Team 70 – 52 to go 4-0 on our trip.
In conclusion, it was an excellent day but I can’t wait for tomorrow because we have a free day and the team is going snorkeling in the morning.
