MSU’s Hernandez, Dybala and McDonald Named to Big Sky First-Team

In addition, Jakub Dybala and Kyle McDonald earned first-team accolades, while Nicole Luetolf and Laura Villegas were named to the league’s second-team.
Hernandez, a junior from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, has been Montana State’s No. 1 singles player the last three seasons. During her tenure with the Bobcats, Hernandez has posted 41 singles victories and 34 doubles win.
This season, Hernandez posted seven wins at the top spot, and combined with Nicole Luetolf at No. 2 doubles where the tandem posted a 9-3 mark.
Dybala, a sophomore from Lodz, Poland, played at MSU’s top spot this season, where he went 6-1 in Big Sky play. His six victories included a straight set win over Sacramento State’s and Big Sky MVP Xavier Barajas-Smith. In all, Dybala went 15-13 in singles play and 13-10 in doubles action.
McDonald, a junior from Casper, Wyo., posted a 10-5 mark at No. 2 singles and combined at No. 1 doubles with Dybala. McDonald was a first-team All-Big Sky pick as a freshman, and earned honorable mention all-league kudos last year.
Luetolf, a junior from Buron, Switzerland, was named to the All-Big Sky Second-Team for the third straight season. Luetolf played at No. 2 singles for the Bobcats, and also saw eight matches at No. 1 singles. Luetolf ended the year with 13 singles wins and 11 doubles victories.
Villegas, a freshman from Cota, Colombia, was one of three newcomers named all-conference. Villegas played at No. 4 singles where she posted a team best 11-2 record. Overall, she recorded a 15-5 singles mark.
