'Cat Women Take Two in Bahamas

The Bobcats downed the Bahamian Nationals 68-48 on Wednesday night. Senior-to-be Rebecca Mercer paced Montana State with 18 points, including a four-of-seven performance from three-point range. Jenny Heringer, who sat out last season with injuries, chipped in seven points, including a 5-of-8 effort from the free throw line.
Callie Goff paced the Bobcats under the glass with a team-high six rebounds.
MSU opened the game with a 19-4 run and entered intermission with a 32-15 advantage.
Anastacia Moultrie and Linda Pierre paced the Bahamian National team with 13 and ten points, respectively.
“This was our second game and we played much better,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “We played aggressive basketball and had a tougher mindset.”
Montana State opened its tour of the Bahamas with a 62-50 win on Tuesday.
Mercer and Whitney Connolly guided the Bobcats with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Nubia Garcia pulled down a game-high eight rebounds in the victory.
For the game, the Bobcats shot 39 percent from the field.
