Hoopin' it up in the Bahamas- Day I

Hello, my name is Erica Perry and I am going to be your journalist on the first day of our journey to the Bahamas.
We started off the trip arriving at Bozeman’s airport two hours before departure. (I remind you it is 5:30 a.m., and we’re all pretty tired).
Okay, it usually takes us 25 minutes to go through check-in-- but oh my goodness, it seemed like forever today. I guess because its international travels, but still?
Anyways, the first flight to Salt Lake City was good. Had a little turbulence, which is always good!
In Salt Lake, we had an hour to get breakfast before our flight to Atlanta. Honestly, I do not like this airport for the simple fact that there is no McDonald's. What airport doesn’t have a McDonald's?
So, instead I had to settle for Burger King. They should sell breakfast all day because their lunch/dinner meals, in my opinion are less than desirable.
Krislyn and Brandie also had some “BK.” I guess Brandie was starving because she ordered two sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits with tater-tots and an orange juice. Now if you’re ever trying to gain weight, just have Brandie order for you.
Moving along…
…the flight to Atlanta was just great (I’m being very sarcastic). I sat by Rebecca (Mercer), because Scotta (Morton) wanted to watch a movie with Alyssa (Nelson).
Behind me was the oh-so-adorable Camryn (Justin Scanson’s baby girl). She might be adorable and all, but she’s got a yell that can be heard in the front and back of the airplane.
I think her ears were hurting, or maybe she just wanted some attention. Either way she kept me wide awake. At one point, I had to walk her up and down the aisle just so she could be quiet and fall asleep. It worked until I had to sit down for landing. Then she started crying again. I think she was sad that I had to give her up.
Arriving in Atlanta was interesting. It is probably one of the most humid places I have ever been. I swear I was sweating a pool through my shirt. It was unbearable for the most part!
This layover was a little bit longer than the first. It was lunchtime and I was ready to eat. Brandie, Krislyn, and I wanted some chicken so I introduced them to good ol’ Popeye’s. They have the best biscuits!
I must have read the directory wrong. I thought it was in concourse E, but it was actually concourse B. So we pretty much took a tour around the airport.
One funny story in the airport involved Coach Saneholtz and the restroom stall. I guess she has magical powers or something because she seemed to have locked herself in the stall. So instead of climbing under, she decided to use her height and climb over to the next stall and get out. I have never known this to happen, but it does with Saneholtz.
From Atlanta to Nassau it was smooth sailing. The flight was quick and the plane was small. When it was time to get our luggage, some people only got one of their two bags. Since the plane was so small, they couldn’t fit all the bags, which caused some bags to get left behind. The good thing is that their luggage isn’t lost and it should arrive today at noon. I’m glad I only had my one bag to worry about.
On our way to the hotel, we encountered a near accident.
First, driving on the opposite side of the road is awkward.
Secondly, there are no streets lights. So if someone was crossing the street, they just might get hit.
Finally, there is only one lane to drive on.
Okay, so back to our near fatal accident. I guess two motorcycles thought they could squeeze through a car and our bus. Luckily our bus driver slowed down; otherwise there would’ve been some cyclists flying through space.
Well, this is where my story ends.
Until the next entry by one of my teammates, have a great day!
