Bobcat Women’s Tennis Team Sweeps Saturday Matches

MSU opened the day with a 7-0 win over Big Sky rival Weber State. The Bobcats won the doubles point, before capturing all six singles matches. The win over WSU was highlighted by freshman Laura Villegas’ 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles over Greyce Farias.
The Bobcats finished weekend play with a 7-0 win over MSU-Billings. Montana State won each match in straight sets, en route to winning its sixth match in its last seven outings.
“I was very pleased with the way responded following the loss to Northern Arizona,” said MSU women’s coach Denise Albrecht. “We came out focused and took care of business. Against MSU-Billings, we were able to go with a different line-up that will add experience and confidence to our team.”
The Bobcat men’s team dropped a pair of matches at Boise State over the weekend.
Loyola-Marymount handed MSU a 4-3 setback on Friday. Junior Kyle McDonald led MSU against LMU with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.
MSU dropped a 7-0 decision to No. 21 Boise State on Saturday.
