Montana State Volleyball Team Adds High School Standouts

Allen, a 6-foot outside hitter who preps at Skyline High School, played club ball for the NORCO Juniors and was coached by former Colorado State assistant Andy Klussman.
As a senior, she averaged 3.56 kills and 3.69 digs per game, en route to being named the Daily Times-Call’s Volleyball Player of the Year. Allen also contributed 87 blocks and 46 aces on the season, leading the Falcons to a state tournament berth.
Allen was a 2007 4A All-State honorable mention choice and was a two-time all-conference selection. A three-time all-state academic pick, Allen has a 3.80 grade-point average and is undecided on a major.
“Rachelle falls right in line with the outside hitters we already have in our program,” Malauulu said. “She is quick and light on her feet. Rachelle jumps well and has a good arm swing. She is capable of finding her way on to the floor right away.”
Dlouhy, whose brother Dustin and cousin Matt starred at the University of Montana in football and basketball, respectively, preps at Skyline High School in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Dlouhy was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball and basketball.
This fall, the 6-2 middle blocker led her volleyball squad to a runner-up finish at the Idaho state tournament.
As a senior, Dlouhy earned first-team All-District 4-5-6 accolades and High Country Conference honors, as well. In basketball, she was the 5A team most valuable player.
An honor roll student, she was an all-academic award winner.
“Demi is a very physical player, which is atypical of what we currently have on our roster,” Malauulu said. “She’ll have a presence at the net. Demi is relatively new to the sport, but is a very quick study. She has great blocking ability and we’re excited that she is a Bobcat.”
Malauulu indicated that the Bobcats will look to sign one more athlete this spring.
“As a class, we’re excited about this group,” Malauulu said. “They will fit in nicely with our current players.”
