MSU opened the match winning the doubles points, as both the Nos. 1 and 2 tandems posted victories.
“We had good momentum after the doubles point,” said MSU men’s coach Mike Phillips. “The singles matches were a battle with four going the distance. Unfortunately, we didn’t come out on top.”
UM opened singles action winning at Nos. 1 and 6, before MSU’s Kyle McDonald posted a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win over Colin Dektar. The Grizzlies took the final three matches, all in three sets.
MSU will host Idaho State on Saturday at 2 p.m.
