Track and Field
Coming Events:
Apr. 5-7: Weber State Invite at Ogden, Utah
Track and field travels to Weber State this weekend for the WSU Invite. Schools that will be competing include MSU, BYU, Weber State, University of Utah, Utah Valley State and Southern Utah. Decathlon and pentathlon events start Thursday and the full meet events run on Saturday.
Last Week:
Montana State junior Ellie Rudy set meet and field records with a 13-4.5 in the pole vault in Saturday's Al Manuel Invitational in Missoula. Rudy was one of five Bobcats to qualify for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships at the team's outdoor season opener. Sophomore Kylee Zent (Bridger) recorded a 47-3.5 in the shot put, Karen Helvey (jr., Thompson Falls) threw the hammer 180-9, and Kim Berg (159-9, jr., Kremlin) and Nick Lam (202-7, fr., Billings) qualified in the javelin.
In addition to the regional qualifiers, MSU qualified 14 women and 13 men for the Big Sky Conference Championships.

Coming Events:
Apr. 9-10: University of Wyoming Invite at Chandler, Arizona
Bobcat golf takes off for Arizona over the Easter weekend to play in the 2007 Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at the Ocotillo Resort in Chandler, Arizona. The two-day event features 36 holes the first day and 18 on the second. In addition to MSU and Wyoming, the field includes Eastern Washington, North Dakota State, Northern Arizona, University of British Columbia, Montana, and Northern Colorado. This is the final meet before the conference tourney in Goodyear, Arizona, April 16-17.

Women’s tennis prepares to host three matches this weekend at the Bobcat Tennis Center. The action starts Friday, Apr. 6 at 2:00 p.m. when the ‘Cats take on conference foe Northern Arizona. The Lumberjacks are 9-9 on the season and 4-1 in conference. Saturday morning’s action is against Weber State, who is 5-9 on the season and 0-3 in conference matches. Montana State finishes up the weekend hosting Division II rival, MSU-Billings.

Mar. 31: won at Northern Colorado, 4-3
The Montana State women’s tennis team swept a pair of matches in Colorado over the weekend. The Bobcats captured an important 4-3 decision over Big Sky newcomer Northern Colorado, and swept Colorado Christian 7-0. With the two victories, Montana State (5-10) is on a four-match win streak.
Against Northern Colorado, the Bobcats were paced by junior Katy Proietti, who posted a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles over Karen Groll. In addition, Proietti combined with Allison Fey to post an 8-5 victory at No. 1 doubles. MSU captured all three double matches to earn the first point. UNC won at Nos. 1, 2 and 5 singles, but it wasn’t enough. Along with Proietti’s victory, the Bobcats took matches at Nos. 4 and 6 singles. Sophomore McKenzie Hilmer’s 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles over Christina Shelly secured the win for MSU.
On Friday, MSU dominated Colorado Christian, dropping one game the entire match- that coming in doubles play. The Bobcats recorded an unprecedented sweep in singles, winning all six spots by 6-0, 6-0 decisions.
