Montana State Tennis Teams Host Grizzlies

The Bobcat women will open play on Friday against the University of Montana at 11 a.m., followed by the UM-MSU men’s match at 2 p.m.
On Saturday, the Montana State women will face Idaho State at 10 a.m., followed by the men at 2 p.m.
“This is a very important weekend,” said MSU men’s coach Mike Phillips. “It’s our final matches of the regular season; and the matches will also have a big impact on the seedings for the Big Sky Conference tournament.”
The MSU women’s squad is 8-11 overall and 3-2 in Big Sky action, while the Lady Griz enter 3-15 and 2-3. The Bobcats will be paced by its Nos. 1 and 2 singles players Nuria Hernandez and Nicole Luetolf.
“We have a lot of respect for Montana’s team,” said MSU women’s coach Denise Albrecht. “The have really been playing good tennis this month, and we will need everyone on their game in order to find success.”
The UM men are currently 9-8 overall in 4-1 in league play, while Montana State is 5-16 and 2-3.
The Bobcats are paced by No. 1 singles standout Jakub Dybala. With two matches remaining in Big Sky play, Dybala, a sophomore from Lodz, Poland, in undefeated at the league’s top spot.
