Gillum in Fourth at BSC Golf Tourney

Gillum, a junior from Fort Collins, Colorado, shot a one-over-par 73, just two strokes off the lead.
“I’m thrilled for Kelly,” head coach Brittany Basye said. “She is playing well and all her experience on the course is paying off. She is right in the running to win this thing.”
Stephanie Simmons and LaRae Smith are tied for 30th, Tessa Stevenson is at 36th, and Kate Steffanich sits in 40th place. MSU is currently in seventh place.
“Mentally, some of the players are not as confident as I would like,” Basye said. “We’ve played 27 rounds on this course before today, so it’s not lack of knowing the course. The next two days we need to go out and play our game. All our golfers are capable of playing well.”
Sacramento State is leading the event and boasts all five golfers scoring sub-80 rounds on the course. Sac State’s Margaux Sheehan is leading the field at a one-under 71. Shotgun start is at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday. The tourney will conclude with 18 holes on Wednesday.
