Gillum Finishes Third at Cowgirl Classic

Sitting in a tie for second place after the first round, Kelly Gillum shot a 77 to finish third in the event and led the Bobcats to a top five team finish. The three-round 227 was Gillum’s lowest round of the spring season.
“It gives Kelly great momentum going into next week’s conference tourney,” head coach Brittany Basye said. “I’m glad she got her game going.” Gillum, a junior from Fort Collins, Colorado, shot rounds of 76-74-77 to lead all ‘Cat scorers.
Tessa Stevenson, a sophomore from Kalispell also finished in the top twenty shooting a 241 for 19th place. Stevenson was followed by Stephanie Simmons (29), Hillary Folkvord (29), and LaRae Smith (37). Northern Arizona won the nine-team event. NAU’s Ali Carter won the meet with a 221.
MSU travels to the Big Sky Conference Tournament April 16-17 at Goodyear, Arizona.
