MSU Finishes Eighth at Red Rocks

Despite the first round being partially postponed due to darkness, the Bobcat golfers persevered to begin the spring season on a high note.
“Gillum had an awesome comeback in the last round to finish in the top ten. I liked the consistency of our team. They all shot well,” head coach Brittany Basye said.
Gillum was followed in scoring by sophomore LaRae Smith (t-20th), Shannon Donnegan (t-46), Stephanie Simmons (t-58) and Hilary Folkvord (t-70).
“This was a tremendous shot of confidence for our golfers,” Basye said. “Each one showed focus and made good shots.”
Liliana Alvarez of Northwestern University won the event with a three over par 147. The highest finisher from the Big Sky Conference was Justine Hix from Portland State, who finished third.
