A.L.L. Update
The spring deadline for the A.L.L. Challenge is April 15. The winners of the academic, leadership and life skills competition will be honored at an all-student athlete banquet April Tuesday, April 24. At that event, the team overall winner will be announced in addition to the academic and community service winners. The winning team will receive the Al Beye Memorial Trophy.

Upcoming Events:
Mar. 31: Al Manuel Invite at Missoula
Track and field continues the transition between indoor and outdoor. The official opening of the outdoor season will be the annual Al Manuel Dual Invite at Missoula on March 31. The event will pit MSU, Montana, Eastern Washington and University of Mary in scored duals. In 2006, adverse weather conditions forced the cancellation of several key scoring events for MSU, resulting in the Bobcats falling in all but one dual on the men’s and women’s sides.

Mar. 26-27: at the Oregon Invite, Eugene Oregon
Montana State golfers trek to Junction City, Oregon for the 2007 Oregon Duck Invitational March 26-27. The 14-team event tees off at Shadow Hills Country Club at 9:00 a.m. Monday, with 36 holes on the first day and 18 holes the second day. Teams competing include Boise State, Central Arkansas, Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, Idaho State, Oregon, Oregon State, Portland State, San Diego State, San Francisco, Texas-San Antonio, Washington State, Wyoming, and MSU. San Jose State won the event in 2006, and the Bobcats placed 12th. .

Men’s tennis team lost a pair of non-conference matches over the weekend in California. MSU dropped a 7-0 decision to West Coast power and No. 63 Santa Clara. The Broncos swept the first five singles matches in straight sets, before MSU’s Myles Perkins forced a tie-breaker at No. 6 singles, eventually dropping a 7-5 decision to Joe Galbraith.
On Sunday, the Bobcats suffered a 5-1 setback to Pacific. MSU’s lone victory came at No. 2 singles, where Kyle McDonald posted a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Vergerd Veskimagi. The doubles matches were not played.

Women’s tennis travels to Colorado this week for two matches. First, the ‘Cats take on Division II Metro State in Denver. The Roadrunners have a young squad with one junior, two sophomores and three freshmen. Following the Metro match, the ‘Cats travel to conference foe Northern Colorado. The Bears are 1-3 against conference foes this season, beating Weber State and losing to Eastern Washington, Sacramento State, and Northern Arizona.
The women’s tennis team had no matches last week.
