Bobcats Race Past Bears

Ted Morris, Nick Dissly and Carson Durr celebrated Senior Night early Wednesday, leading Montana State to an 89-66 romp over Northern Colorado.
"We got off to a good start and sustained," said MSU Coach Brad Huse. "The guys handled the game the right way. There's a lot riding on every game at this point."
Durr and Dissly each scored 24 points, a career-high for Durr and Dissly's seventh 20-point game of the season, while Morris scored two of MSU's first three baskets to stretch the Bear defense and help build an early lead that UNC couldn't overcome.
The final result was a victory that clinched a spot in the 2007 Big Sky Men's Basketball Tournament for MSU, a situation Huse said the team understood but ignored. "You just have to put that to the side and play," he said.
Durr's career-high came on a 7-for-8 effort from the field and 6-for-7 three-point shooting. His hot shooting spurred the Bobcats to a 54% shooting night, and the team earned assists on 20 of its 29 baskets. "I thought we shared the ball real well," Huse said.
Sean Taibi scored Northern Colorado's first five points, but after his three-pointer cut MSU's lead to 9-4 the Bobcats rattled off 11 straight points to take command of the game. The Bears would never cut the lead to single digits, and a 15-2 Bobcat run midway through the first half put the game away.
"The guys were real focused," Huse said. "There was no letdown in the first half at any point. It was an all-around good showing."
Durr and Dissly's red-hot night overshadowed a spectacular effort by UNC's Will Figures. The freshman guard scored 29 points on 11-for-16 shooting.
