Montana State heads into the final homestand of the regular conference season in fifth place. The ‘Cats start off the week hosting last place Northern Colorado on Wednesday. MSU slipped past the Bears in the first meeting of the two, 58-57. Northern Arizona comes to Bozeman sitting in third place in the conference. In the earlier meeting at NAU, the Lumberacks topped the ‘Cats 76-86. Ted Morris, Nick Dissly and Carson Durr will be honored at Senior Day on Sunday as they play their last regular season home game at the Brick. Note the tip-off time of 3:05 p.m.
Last Week:
Feb. 14: lost at Sacramento State, 82-90
Six days after losing to the Bobcats by 15 points in Bozeman in its last game, Sacramento State clawed its way to a 90-82 win over Montana State in Hornet Gym. Nick Dissly led the ‘Cats with 23 points and six rebounds.

Feb. 15: beat Sacramento State, 80-56
Feb. 16: lost to Idaho State, 74-96
Montana State senior Whitney Connolly posted a team-high 13 points and seven rebounds as all but one Bobcat player scored en route to an 80-56 win over Sacramento State, Thursday night. Also hitting double-figures for Montana State (11-13, 6-6) were Jamie Thornton 11, Amanda DeHaan 10, and Rebecca Mercer 10.
Idaho State hit 53 percent from the field in the opening period, including 8-of-11 3-pointers en route to a 96-74 victory over Montana State, Friday night in Worthington Arena. MSU was paced for the third straight game by Whitney Connolly, who came off the bench to notch 19 points and seven rebounds. Also in double-figures were Krislyn Wallace 17 and Nubia Garcia 10.
Indoor Track and Field
This Week:
Feb. 23-24: Big Sky Conference Indoor Championships, Brick Breeden Fieldhouse
MSU entered a total of 34 men’s performances and 37 women’s performances for this week’s BSC Championships to be held in Bozeman. The meet begins Friday morning with the multi events at 9:00 a.m., field events start at 1:00 p.m., and track events start at 4:00 p .m. on Friday. A full schedule of events is slated for Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m. with the men’s heptathlon and track and field events start at 11:00
Last Week:
In their final home regular meet of the season, the indoor track and field squad scored 19 personal best marks at the Bobcat Open Saturday. The meet was highlighted by Ellie Rudy’s record pole vault of 13-9.25, an automatics qualifying mark for the NCAA Championships.
Skiing
Coming Events:
Feb. 23-24 NCAA Regional at Sugar Bowl
Skiing begins its trek to the national championship event this week at the NCAA Rocky Mountain Regionals at Sugar Bowl. Both alpine and nordic teams will compete in the event.
Last Week:
MSU skiers had no events this past week.
Golf
Coming Events:
Bobcat golfers have no events this week but will be traveling to Flagstaff, Arizona March 3-4 for the Red Rocks Invitational hosted by Northern Arizona.
Last Week:
The MSU golfers finished 13th at the Lady Braveheart Challenge hosted by UC-Riverside. Junior Kelly Gillum finished the third round with a 75 and finished ninth for the event. Stephanie Simmons shot an 84 the final day, followed by LaRae Smith and Shannon Donnegan at 88 and Kate Steffanich with a 99.
Men’s Tennis

Last Week:
The three-time defending Big Sky champion Montana State men’s tennis team began defense of its title with a 7-0 victory over Northern Colorado last Sunday afternoon. The Bobcats won the opening doubles point, capturing all three positions. The doubles play was sparked by Kyle McDonald and Jakob Dybala, who posted an 8-3 win over Vinnie Fallico and Kollman Gearhart at No. 1. MSU swept all six singles matches in straight sets.
Women’s Tennis

Last Week:
The Montana State women’s tennis team dropped a pair of matches last weekend in California. Perennial Big Sky power Sacramento State handed MSU a 7-0 setback on Saturday.
The Hornets swept the doubles point and took all six singles matches in straight sets. The Bobcats earlier dropped a 5-2 decision to Cal Davis on Friday. MSU was paced by freshman Laura Villegas and sophomore McKenzie Hilmer, who won at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively. Also posting a win was the No. 1 doubles tandem of Katy Proietti and Allison Fey.
