Bobcat Women Host Two Big Sky Tilts

NEXT UP: The Montana State women’s basketball team will host Sacramento State on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7:05 p.m., in the friendly confines of Worthington Arena. The Bobcats will conclude play on Friday, Feb. 16 when it hosts Idaho State. Tip is slated for 7:05 p.m.
ON THE AIR: All Montana State women’s basketball games will be carried live on My 103.5 FM. Veteran broadcaster Mark Martello will handle play-by-play duties for his second straight season. Martello will begin his broadcast with the Bobcat Pregame Show, originating 15-minutes prior to tip-off. MSU’s games are also- for a fee- webcast at www.bigksytv.org.
SERIES FACTS: Montana State owns a 17-5 advantage in its all-time series with Sacramento State. MSU has won two striaght. The ‘Cats also have a 36-20 advantage vs Idaho State. MSU snapped a seven-game losing streak on Jan. 20.
FAST BREAKS: Montana State has split every series it has played on the road in Big Sky action, including a 66-59 win at Sacramento State last Wednesday…Against the Hornets; MSU was led by sophomore Nubia Garcia with a game-high 18 points on 9-12 from the field. Garcia had a great all-around night against Sac. Garcia also added seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a blocked shot…Also in double-figures for the Bobcats were Rebecca Mercer and Alyssa Nelson 12, and Krislyn Wallace, 10…MSU’s five starters accounted for 54 of 66 points versus Sacramento State…The Bobcats connected on 9 of its first 13 shots at Montana on Sunday afternoon, building a three-point cushion against the Lady Griz; however a late first half run gave UM a 45-38 advantage at intermission…Whitney Connolly (17) and Rebecca Mercer (13) combined for 30 of MSU’s 38 first half points…MSU’s 70 points against UM were its most scored in Dahlberg/Adams Center since March 7, 1981...Connolly and Mercer shared scoring honors with a game-high 17 points, apiece…Alyssa Nelson added 12 points, 10 coming in the second half.
