Bison Charge Past Bobcat Women

NDSU (6-6) opened the game with a 14-6 run and held a 34-30 advantage at intermission.
The Bison opened the second stanza with a 10-2 run. Montana State (5-7) could get no closer than six points with 15:17 remaining following a Lyndi Seidensticker layup.
“Right now, we’re not a very good defensive team,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “We’ve lacked intensity and we’ve struggled with rebounding. Those two areas are now our top priorities.”
The Bobcats were led in the loss by Rebecca Mercer with a team-high 12 points. Also in double-digits was Jenny Heringer with a season-high ten points. Junior Nubia Garcia ended the contest with eight points and a game-high eight rebounds.
For the game, MSU shot 33 percent from the field and converted four-of-15 three-point attempts. The Bison shot 38 percent and made five 3-pointers.
NDSU had a commanding edge under the boards, out-rounding MSU 59-40.
The Bison were paced by Lisa Bue, who recorded a career-high 29 points.
MSU will open its Big Sky season at Montana on Friday night.
