Bobcats Fall Short at UNLV

UNLV sharpshooter Curtis Terry thwarted a late Montana State comeback with 26 points, including five at a crucial moment late in the game, to seal the Rebels' 76-65 win over Montana State in Las Vegas' Thomas and Mack Center on Friday night.
Trailing by as many as 20 points in the second half, the Bobcats closed to within five points on a pair of Phil Friesen free throws with 3:57 to play. On UNLV's next possession, Terry hit a three-pointer, and sank two free throws the next time down to restore the Rebels' lead to 10. Terry led all scorers with 26 points.
MSU was led by Divaldo Mbunga with 14 points on 7-for-11 shooting. Carlos Taylor and Mecklen Davis each scored 11 points.
The Bobcats outrebounded UNLV 48-39, but the Rebels forced 17 turnovers and held MSU to 36% shooting. Each team shot free throws well, MSU hitting 16-of-21 while the Rebels hit 19-of-27.
