Montana State was paced by Monique Schaal and Rachelle Allen with eight and seven kills, respectively. Defensively, the Bobcats were guided by Meghan Albiston with 16 digs, while Patti Anderson added 12 and Laura Viren 10.
Sacramento State out-hit the Bobcats .272 to .113. The Hornets cruised to victories in the first and third game, but struggled with the Bobcats in the middle set.
The second game featured 11 ties and six lead changes, before Sacramento State broke away at 23-all with a 7-3 run.
MSU sophomore Nicole Grypiuk led the Bobcats at the net with a team-best four blocks.
Setter Sarah Allen dished out 25 assists and added four digs.
MSU will conclude its season next weekend when it hosts Idaho State and Weber State.
The Idaho State match on Friday has been moved to a 5:30 p.m. start in Shroyer Gym in order to accommodate a double-header with the Bobcat men’s basketball team which faces Boise State in Worthington Arena.
