One Last Look: MSU vs. NAU
11/3/2007 12:00:00 AM | Football
Montana State looks to put the disappointment of last week's upset loss at Northern Colorado behind it on Saturday, hosting Northern Arizona at noon at Bobcat Stadium. Second place in the Big Sky Conference is on the line, as two of the three occupants of that spot (NAU is 4-2, MSU and EWU are each 3-2) square off.
FRIGHTENING
In the last 31 years, Montana State and the Lumberjacks have met on one of the weekends surrounding Halloween 14 times. That string includes each season from 1998-2005, and may explain some of the strange games in this series. NAU is 8-6 against the Bobcats in Halloween-themed games.
TICKET TALK
MSU sold out of reserved seats on Friday morning, marking the fifth consecutive sellout of the season. Tickets for temporary bleachers and, possibly, standing room are available through the Bobcat Ticket Office.
LAST YEAR
The Bobcats snapped their horrific three-game September losing streak with a 39-32 win at 25th-ranked Northern Arizona. Mike Jefferson set a school record with 239 receiving yards and Cory Carpenter logged his second 300-yard passing day. MSU registered six sacks on the afternoon.
NEWS AND NOTES
• Weather forecasts call for beautiful weather on Saturday, marking MSU's first home contest played without rain or snow since the home opener against Dixie State.
• The Bobcats suffered five turnovers last week, more than in the previous four games combined.
• MSU has won the coin toss in the last four games after losing the toss in the previous four.
