Montana State bolstered its inside talent core Wednesday by signing 6-10, 270-lb center Cody Anderson from Canyon Country, Calif.
Anderson brings size and skill to the Bobcat program. He averaged 10 points and eight rebounds a game as a junior at Canyon High School last year, blocking 20 shots. He shot 53% from the field, and added seven steals. The prospective engineering student is an outstanding student, said MSU coach Brad Huse.
“We feel good about signing a person who fits Montana State University as well as Cody,” Huse said. “He is a great student and a leader in his school, and he’s proven to be a productive basketball player who continues to develop. Cody will be an outstanding addition to our program.”
Huse said Anderson’s skills project to the Bobcat program. “Cody has great hands and can shoot at a high percentage out to the three-point line,” Huse said. “He also runs the floor well. He’s going to be a big presence for us.”
The addition of Anderson adds to a strong core of young inside players in the Bobcat program, Huse said. “He adds to a very solid core of post players for the future,” Huse said.
