Golfers Finish Tenth in High Winds

The ‘Cats finished the event in tenth place, and were led by junior LaRae Smith, who tied for 38th with a 54-hole total of 258.
Scores on the final day of the event reflected the windy conditions with only three sub-80 rounds shot on the final 18 holes. The University of Nebraska won the invite and Cornhusker Allison Stewart was the medalist with a three-round total of 233.
The meet marked the end of head coach Brittany Basye’s tenure as the head coach of the MSU women’s golf program. Basye will be replaced by Leslie Spalding on Nov. 1.
