Brock Arthun comes to Montana State from Wilsall, where he was a standout at Shields Valley High. His brother Leif was a track standout at MSU,and Brock was a three-sport standout in high school.
Q: You come from a strong Bobcat family, how much did that influence your decision to come to MSU?
BA: It strongly influenced me. I gave up a couple of scholarship (offers) to walk on here.
Q: Who's the better javelin thrower, you or Leif?
BA: Well, Leif has the upper hand right now, but I think someday I will beat him.
Q: You were a multi-sport standout at Shields Valley, how did you choose basketball?
BA: I figured I would do better at basketball at the collegiate level.
Q: You grew up in a ranch family, what kind of lessons do rural life in Montana teach that are applicable to athletics?
BA: I would have to say the work ethic of small town people.
Q: A lot of basketball players starting out in Bozeman are starting in a town smaller than where they grew up. How are you adjusting to life in a bigger town?
BA: I am getting adjusted to all the people, and the crazy traffic.
