Taylor Lights It Up in Blue-Gold Scrimmage

Brad Huse saw plenty of areas for his team to improve during Montana State's Blue-Gold Scrimmage on Thursday night in Bozeman's Shroyer Gym, but also plenty to smile about.
"We were sluggish at times, we had guys question their actions in terms of where they needed to be, we made some mistakes," MSU's second-year head coach said. "But I thought we settled down as we went along. I could definitely tell there were some nerves out there. Playing with officials in front of a crowd was a different feeling, and I'm glad we experienced that."
Carlos Taylor led all Bobcats with 21 points and also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Returning starters Casey Durham and Mecklen Davis added 11 points each.
Huse said that shot selection was a telling factor in the scrimmage. "I was concerned with where the shots were coming from," he said. "We were taking some long shots, not using the post quite enough. When we did get the ball where we wanted I thought we finished effectively and executed better.
"Overall," Huse said, "it was a solid start."
