“We had too many unforced errors, especially at the start of the fifth game,” said MSU head coach Miya Malauulu. “However, I thought we put up a good fight, and defensively, we really improved from the Weber State match on Friday.”
Sophomore Nicole Grypiuk paced Montana State (1-19, 0-8) for the second consecutive match, notching a career-high 15 kills, while adding three blocks.
Patti Anderson also tallied 15 kills, while recording a team-high 17 digs. Also in double-digit kills for MSU were Laura Viren 11, Kaytlin Van Burger 10, and Wendy Doutre, 10.
Setter Sarah Allen dished out 59 assists and posted 12 digs, while libero Meghan Albiston tied for team-high honors with 17 saves.
Idaho State (4-15, 1-7) out-hit the Bobcats .296 to .175.
The Bengals were led by Charlee Kinghorn with 16 kills and 16 digs.
