Montana State announces the addition of live game stats during football and volleyball games. The “Cat Stat” link to the live stats is on the right tab of the athletic site’s home page at www.msubobcats.com. The link provides play-by-play real time stats of home volleyball and football.

Montana State looks to extend its home winning streak to four this weekend as they host Southern Utah, a NCAA D-I FSC team from Cedar City, Utah. The Thunderbirds finished fifth in the Great West Conference in 2006 and currently own a 0-4 record having lost to McNeese State, Southern Illinois, North Dakota and University of Montana.

The ‘Cats continue to work for their first conference win as they face league-leading Sacramento State this Saturday at home. The Hornets are 4-0 in conference play and are led by all-conference middle hitter Lindsay Haupt .

The Montana State men’s and women’s cross country squads found the running tough at the Notre Dame Invitational, Friday afternoon in South Bend, Ind. The Bobcat men’s team finished 18th overall, while the MSU women placed 23rd.
Sophomore Nick Atwood paced the MSU men, finishing 62nd overall, covering the 5-mile course in 25:02. He was followed by Graydon Curry, 76th, 25:12; Matt Adams, 99th, 25:34; Tyler Noland, 145th, 26:26; Chad Nauman, 154th, 26:38; Kelvin Daratha, 155th, 26:39; Carl Nystuen, 159th, 26:48; and Chris Baldus, 161st, 26:58.
Notre Dame won the men’s title with 92 points, while Liberty’s Joshua McDougal won individual honors, covering the course in 23:37.
The Bobcat women were led by Elisabeth Driscoll, who finished 89th overall, posting a 5000-meter clocking of 18:16. She was followed by Kayla Larson, 117th, 18:44; Carrie Gottschalk, 120th, 18:46; Anna Glowacki, 140th, 19:18; Kala Jacquet, 143rd, 19:21; Jayme Larson, 147th, 19:29; Morgan Dunley, 154th, 19:43; and Katie Gilboy, 157th, 19:48.

10/1-2: at the University of Colorado Heather Farr Memorial Invite
Golf travels to Broomfield, Colorado for the University of Colorado Invite Monday and Tuesday. The two-day sixteen team event includes five Big Sky conference schools: MSU, Eastern Washington, Portland State, Weber State, and Northern Colorado. Last year the ‘Cats finished 16th in the event and were led by Kelly Gillum, a redshirt senior, who finished 14th in the tough field.
Men’s Tennis
Coming Events:
Kyle McDonald and Jakub Dybala are at the All-American Tournament in Tulsa, Oklahoma. McDonald played in the pre-qualifying round, defeating Albert Ballesta of Wichita State 6-7, 7-5, 6-4, as well as Matt Bain of Texas A&M, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. McDonald’s exit from the singles tournament came at the hands of Virginia’s Ted Angelinos 6-2, 6-4. Junior Jakub Dybala will begin play in the qualifying singles bracket on Monday, while the twosome will combine to play in the doubles bracket on Tuesday.
