The Bobcats continue their long road stand with a conference game at Weber State on Thursday. Weber started their conference season with two road wins against Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona. Against Northern Colorado, the Wildcats held off a late rally by the Bears that evaporated a 17-point Weber lead. WSU won the game on a free throw at the end of the game, 61-60. In an 81-73 win against NAU, the Wildcats (9-6 overall) shot 52 percent from the floor for the game, and used a 49-40 scoring edge on 61 percent shooting in the second half to earn the win.

Dec. 28: beat Eastern Washington, 82-79
Dec. 30: lost at Portland State, 79-65
Carlos Taylor's 23-footer at the buzzer gave Montana State an 82-79 win at Eastern Washington. Taylor led the Bobcats with 20 points, while Casey Durham added a dozen. Nick Dissly scored 10 points, but grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out five assists. Portland State used its strength inside to muscle past the Bobcats 79-65 in Portland. The Vikings out-rebounded Montana State 41-31, and converted 17 offensive rebounds into 16 second-chance points. PSU out-scored the 'Cats 34-18 in the paint, and held starting center Ted Morris scoreless. Carson Durr and Carlos Taylor each scored 14 points to lead the Bobcats, whose 10 three-pointers extends the team's streak to four straight games with at least 10 triples.

The Bobcats open their conference season at home this week with a pair of games against Eastern Washington and Portland State. The ‘Cats hope to avenge a pair of losses against each school from last year. The Vikings are 4-9 on the season and are coming off an overtime victory against Utah Valley State. EWU is 5-8 on the season and returns 7 letter winners from last year’s squad, including five guards.

The Montana State women’s basketball squad dropped an 81-53 decision to Gonzaga in its final tune-up prior to the start of the Big Sky Conference season. The Bobcats were paced by Nubia Garcia and Alyssa Nelson with 12 and 10 points, respectively. For the game, MSU shot 33 percent from the field, and converted only 14-of-25 free throw attempts. In addition, the Bobcats committed 26 turnovers.
Skiing
MSU opens their ski season this week hosting the MSU Invite on Jan. 6-7 at Big Sky. All the schools from the region will compete in the annual event.
Indoor Track and Field
Jan. 8: MSU Combined Invite at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse; starts at 11:00
MSU will host an indoor combined meet on Monday, Jan. 8 in the fieldhouse. The meet will feature MSU and unattached athletes in the multi events and starts at 11:00. Bobcat competitors will include Nick Morrow, Kevin Ludwig, Bobby Biskupiak, Thomas Seely, Mike Green, Ashley Kropp, Meghan Bucy, and Ellie Rudy.
